Due to many reasons this will be the last year JCC runs, unless someone else take over, we are sorry to see it shut down but we feel that there are way to many anime convention going on at the moment.

We would like to thank all the people that helped a small dream into a reality and a special big thank you to all you guys that have supported us. A big warm hearted hug to all of you.

We will return next year to run our Japanese Music venue as promised, we will give more details early in 2010 but for now we can say that we will have 6-8 Japanese bands flying over to play a live gig at the Assembly Rooms late next year.

Love n hugs to you all.

Its so sad T^T, this will be the first time and last that i will go. Its such a shame...Whats everyone else thinking???

i went to chibicon last year aswell and think its such a shame to let it go so soon! personally i don't think theres enough anime conventions! especially nearby! and the prices are good!
on the brighter side a j-concert would be quite good. but still :/

yeh thats so true...most anime cons are dying out Sad

the only big ones i know that probably wont is the MCMs but their both anime as well as sci fi >.>
But yes we all have to look on the bright side..there will be a J consert at the end ^_^

We need more JUST anime cons!!! Smile

i got told that there will be a j con on next year and it will be held for 2 day and will run till 10.00 on the night

i reallllly hope its on next year!!!! But the Tokyo Otaku guys emailed ppl that had joined their facebook group... T^T Hopefully theyll email ppl back saying "oh actually..its still on ^_^" *hopes*

well on the bright side, theres going to be a Japanese music venue..where japanese bands will be performing there..but yeh..its not the same.

For me JCulture Con was turning out to be one of the best things Derby had to offer (what with there being no anime conventions nearby! Sad

this is such a shame, fingers crossed the tables turn and JC-Con continues...

But this is partly why smaller cons 'dry up', you've only got a limited range of attraction, especialty considering there seems to be alot of people fed up with the fandom, what its become and are very willing to give it up.

People also get tierd of the same old things that seem to go on at every con, so going to them become pointless (especialy if your not a teenage fanboi/girl); The market has almost become diluted with so much to the same it almost needs a few complete failures to wake people up and make them think twice about trotting out the same thing con after con.

Especialy with the economy nosediving and people not being able to afford to travel so much, fewer cons are going to happen.

Admittedly, with Chibi/J-CC, there is more of a range, but its still an anime con with small intrest groups tacked on.
